Peggy Willis Collection

Mrs. Peggy Ann Willis Greathouse (9 Jan 1935 – 21 Dec 2020), a resident of Bienville Parish, Louisiana, worked as a secretary on Richard Nixon’s 1968 presidential Campaign. Richard Nixon received 301 electoral votes to Hubert Humphrey’s 191 electoral votes, and George Wallace’s 46. Therefore, Nixon became the 37th President of the United States. Throughout the campaign, Mrs. Willis amassed a sizeable collection of memorabilia from the campaign including an autographed photo of Nixon personalized to Mrs. Willis, a rare paper dress, jewelry, buttons, pins, pendants, and much more. This collection is being shared online in honor of Mrs. Willis.
